How you know
- Bites in a line or a loose cluster, on skin left uncovered overnight
- Rust-coloured spotting on the sheets, dark ink dots along the mattress piping
- Pale shed skins and pepper specks in frame joints and headboard screw holes
- Something the size and shape of an apple seed in a mattress or box spring seam

- Common bed bug
- Cimex lectularius. Feeds at night, shelters within a couple of metres of the bed, and survives months between meals. That last part is why an empty room can still be infested.

How we deal with bed bugs
Full inspection, then a written prep sheet before we treat. Unprepared rooms fail.
Targeted product into harbourage. Frame joints, box spring gauze, baseboards, furniture seams, plus a growth regulator to break the cycle.
Encasements on the mattress and box spring where the units are worth keeping.

Do I have to throw out my mattress?
Usually not. An encasement traps whatever is inside and leaves us a clean surface to inspect. Throwing furniture out without treating the room moves bugs into the next one.
Why does it take more than one visit?
No product reliably kills the eggs. Follow-up visits land on the nymphs that hatch after the first treatment. Skipping them is the single most common reason a bed bug job comes back.
