Local matters
Geography decides your pest problem
Richmond and Pitt Meadows sit on drained delta silt near sea level, so a wet week floods burrows and pushes rats up into crawlspaces. West Vancouver and Port Moody are built into coastal rainforest, which is why carpenter ants in wet framing and squirrels at the roofline come back every year.
New Westminster has the oldest houses in the region, and century-old balloon framing gives rodents routes between floors that exterior baiting will never solve. Abbotsford farmland supports rat numbers no residential street produces on its own.
All of it comes from working the crawlspaces here.
